2. Reservations

You can make a reservation both through the Locations page and the Bookings page.

On the Locations page of your app, you first select the location and then click on Reserve in the detail view of the desired location.

On the Bookings page of your app, you can click Reserve Now for Free and then select the location for the reservation.

You can generally reserve up to five bike slots at all locations, provided that there are enough free bike slots and you do not currently have any active parking processes or reservations at the location.

If you want a ground floor box in a two-storey bike box facility, you can activate the preference I need a box on the ground floor for such facilities. If there are still free boxes on the ground floor, such a box will be reserved, otherwise an top box will be reserved.

To delete a reservation, go to the Bookings page. There you will find all your current reservations. If you want to cancel a reservation there, just go to the To my reservations box, where you will find your reservation details. You will find the option Cancel reservation under the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the screen.

No, reservations are free of charge. Only parking processes incur costs; read more on this under Tariffs.

You can reserve a maximum of five bike slots per location at the same time up to 24 hours in advance; this service is free of charge.

Parking means that you leave a bike at one of the ParkYourBike locations; this process is subject to a fee and starts when the door to the parking facility or individual bike parking is opened. As with reservations, you can park up to five bikes per location at the same time.

Reservations are valid for 24 hours. If you fail to start a parking process during this time, your reservation will automatically expire and the bike slots will be released for reservation by others.

When you reserve a bike slot, it cannot be reserved by anyone else. So if you change your mind and no longer need a bike slot, you should delete your reservation so that others can use it.

Only one reservation for up to five bike slots is possible at each location. However, you can create reservations at multiple locations.

When parking at the terminal, you can still reduce or increase the number of bicycles to be parked if necessary.

Your current reservations are listed on the Bookings page.

On the map, you can recognise the locations with your current reservations based on the clock icon.

3. Payment method

No, at present it is only possible to pay with a payment method stored in your profile. To be able to start a parking process, you need to have stored a payment method in the ParkYourBike app.

No, you can only store one payment method.

You need a stored payment method to be able to park or reserve. You can use all other features of the ParkYourBike app without storing a payment method.

If your payment method has been blocked or you have lost it, please change your stored payment method to a valid payment method.

If you add Paypal as a payment method, the registration process will be taken over by Paypal, simply follow the instructions from Paypal.

Please note that PayPal must be re-verified as a payment method once a year. This means that after one year Paypal can only be used as a payment method for ParkYourBike after a new verification. You will notice that your payment method is no longer accepted and is visually framed in red. Simply follow the Paypal instructions to re-verify your Paypal as a payment method.

Please store a valid payment method in good time before your credit card expires.

As soon as your stored payment method is no longer valid, you can no longer start a parking process or make a reservation.

You can use the following payment methods:

  • Credit/debit card (VISA or Mastercard)
  • PayPal

Please note that we only accept credit/debit cards with 3D Secure.

In your ParkYourBike app, go to the menu item Payment methods under Profile. You can select and store your payment method there.

4. Tariffs

If you have not yet used your Season Ticket and it has not yet expired, you can cancel and thus revoke your Season Ticket within 14 days according to our terms of use.

If you want to cancel a Season Ticket, please contact ParkYourBike support via the (web) app, the contact form on the website or by email to support@parkyourbike.berlin.

Yes, you can extend your Season Ticket at any time. To do so, click the Season Ticket that you want to extend and then click the Extend Season Ticket box.

Select the type of Season Ticket with which you would like to extend your Season Ticket. You can extend your Season Ticket with a Monthly Ticket or Annual Ticket.

Please note that it may take a few minutes before your extended Season Ticket is ready for use.

As soon as your current Season Ticket expires, your extended Season Ticket will be automatically activated.

Please note: When you purchase a new Season Ticket, it is not automatically applied to running parking processes. You have to manually assign it to a parking process at the terminal.

When you purchase a new Season Ticket, it cannot be applied to running parking processes. It can only be assigned at the start of new parking processes. However, you can extend your Season Ticket at any time before its expiration. This ensures that running parking processes with your Season Ticket will not switch to the Flex tariff. To do this, click on the Season Ticket you want to extend in the Season Ticket overview. There you will find the button "Extend Season Ticket" in the lower area.

If your Season Ticket expires but your bicycle is still parked in the facility (ongoing parking process), the Flex Tariff automatically goes into effect i.e. the first 24 hours are free of charge and then EUR 0.70 is charged for each additional 24 hours or part thereof.  The costs incurred under the Flex Tariff are stored in your ParkYourBike profile after you retrieve your bicycle, and then you are billed for these costs once a month. You can find the Flex Tariff under Tariffs.

Please note: You can extend your Season Ticket at any time before its expiration. This ensures that running parking processes with your Season Ticket do not switch to the Flex tariff. To do this, click on the Season Ticket you want to extend in the Season Ticket overview. There you will find the button "Extend Season Ticket" in the lower area.

In the Flex tariff, parking processes are tracked to the minute and the costs are calculated according to the intervals set in the tariff (currently 24-hour intervals). At the end of each month, the costs of the completed parking processes of the current month are settled via the payment method stored in the profile.

If you do not wish to purchase a season ticket, you will park your bike in the Flex tariff.

If your time card expires and you still have a running parking process, the Flex rate will also apply.

You can see the costs of the current month in the menu item Bookings.

You can find invoices from previous months in your profile under Invoices.

ParkYourBike offers two different tariff models, namely Season Tickets and the Flex Tariff. You can find the exact tariff information HERE.

In the Flex tariff, you park free of charge for the first 24 hours per parking. After that, we charge EUR 0.70 for every 24 hours or part thereof. Costs incurred in the Flex tariff are collected over the course of the current month and automatically billed at the end of the month via the stored payment method.

ParkYourBike also offers you the option of purchasing season tickets (monthly tickets for EUR 7.00 or annual tickets for EUR 70.00 per bike). These season tickets must be purchased and paid for via the (web) app before parking. The season tickets are valid immediately. This means that if you buy a monthly pass on 5 October, for example, it will be valid up to and including 4 November at the same time.

However, current parking processes will not be converted to newly purchased season tickets.

Please note that Season Tickets can be used for parking in all ParkYourBike facilities and are not related to a facility or parking space. We want to give as many users as possible the opportunity to park their bikes with ParkYourBike. Therefore, a Season Ticket is not linked to an individual parking space. As soon as the parking process is finished and the bike is removed, the parking space is available to everyone.

It is possible to buy an extension for a season ticket. The card automatically becomes valid after the season ticket to be extended has expired.

If you park without a season ticket or if you exceed the period for the purchased season ticket, the Flex tariff automatically applies.

You can find the tariff information on our website or in your app under Profile -> Tariffs.

ParkYourBike offers monthly and annual Season Tickets. For more information visit our tariffs page.

The Season Tickets can be purchased at any time in the (web) app and are valid immediately. This means that if you buy a monthly pass on October 5, for example, it will be valid up to and including November 4. However, newly purchased Season Tickets cannot be used for any running parking processes. Although you can extend your Season Ticket if it is due to expire while used for a running parking process.

ParkYourBike offers you various tariff options, regardless of whether you want to park your bike regularly, park it for a specific period or just try out the offer without obligation.

Choose the right tariff for you from two fair options:

Flex tariff (per parking process)
The first 24 hours of parking with the Flex tariff are free, after that 70 cents are charged for each additional day (or 24 hours or part thereof).

Season tickets:
Monthly ticket: EUR 7.00
Annual ticket: 70.00 EUR

Payment

Flex tariff or season tickets are billed via the ParkYourBike app and the payment method you have stored there.
You can currently use the following payment methods

Mastercard

Visa

PayPal

In your ParkYourBike app, go to Bookings, where you will find the Buy Season Ticket now and save box in the top right corner if you don’t have a Season Ticket yet; otherwise, there is a box in the same place that will take you to the Season Tickets you have purchased. There you will find a button for purchasing additional Season Tickets.

Attention: Unlike extended Season Tickets, newly purchased Season Tickets cannot be used for any running parking processes.

In your ParkYourBike app, go to Bookings, where you will find the Buy Season Ticket now and save box in the top right corner if you don’t have a Season Ticket yet; otherwise, there is a box in the same place that will take you to the Season Tickets you have purchased.

Please note: You can extend your Season Ticket at any time before its expiration. This ensures that current parking processes with your Season Ticket do not switch to the Flex tariff. To do this, click on the Season Ticket you want to extend in the Season Ticket overview. There you will find the button "Extend Season Ticket" in the lower area. When you purchase a new Season Ticket, it is not automatically applied to running parking processes. You have to manually assign it to a parking process at the terminal.

No. If you do not want to use a season ticket, you will automatically park at the Flex tariff. For more information, visit our Tariffs page.

5. Invoices

As a rule, you will receive an invoice once a month for your purchases from the previous month. For months in which no costs were incurred, no invoices are issued.

In the ParkYourBike app, check the top left-hand corner of the Bookings page, where you will see the costs for this month that have accrued up to this point and that will be paid automatically at the end of the month using your stored payment method.

In the ParkYourBike app, go to the Profile page and click Invoices. There you will find your invoices sorted by date with the option to download the invoices as PDF files.

If you have a question about your invoice, please contact Support.

6. Access and access media

Yes, you can remove or block your VBB Card as an access medium. If you have registered a VBB card as an access medium, you can select it in your app under Code and then use the buttons to block or remove it.

Use our contact form to contact Support. We will reset your access PIN, and you will receive a new PIN and therefore a new QR code.

When you are at the desired location, you can gain access to the facility at a terminal:

  • Using the QR code displayed in the ParkYourBike app (Code): Hold the screen of your smartphone in front of the scanner under the screen keeping an angle upwards. You can also print the QR code that you find on the Code page and use a laminator to laminate your code for frequent reuse.
  • By entering the access PIN on the touch screen of the terminal: In the ParkYourBike app, you can find your access PIN under Code.
  • Using your VBB-Umweltkarte: Hold the card directly in front of the scanner ((°)) under the screen.

You can link a valid VBB-Umweltkarte as an access medium at any terminal at the ParkYourBike locations. Hold your VBB-Umweltkarte in front of the terminal scanner ((°)). To link the card to your ParkYourBike account, you only need to enter your access PIN once at the terminal. Once this has been done, you can use your VBB-Umweltkarte at any ParkYourBike terminal and view and manage it under Access medium in the app.

You can also link your VBB-Umweltkarte to your ParkYourBike account using the app. Link it under Access medium by typing in the card number. You can do this using the ParkYourBike-app and the NFC interface on your smartphone. To make this possible, you need to give the ParkYourBike app access to the NFC interface in your smartphone settings.

7. Bookings

Not every location has charging stations, but some of them do. Check the detailed descriptions of the respective location in the ParkYourBike app.

No liability is accepted for your bicycle or other items left in the parking facility.

See Terms and Conditions of Use.

No. If you only want to park one bike and you don't have a reservation for it, just log in at the terminal. The system defaults to parking one bike. As a tariff, either the Flex Tariff or an active Season Ticket stored in the user account is preselected.

Please check the default settings of the terminal for correctness before you start the parking process.

If all settings are correct, you can start the parking process with just one click. If the number of bicycles and/or the assigned tariff is not correct, please correct this via the respective button Change number of bicycles or Tariffs.

No, unfortunately that is impossible. You can only have one ongoing parking process with one or more bicycles at each location. This parking process must be ended for all bicycles at the same time.

According to ParkYourBike's terms of use, a parking process may last a maximum of 21 calendar days at a time. Unfortunately, no exceptions or special arrangements can be made.

Yes, you can access your parked bike up to two times without ending the parking process. To do this, use your access medium or access PIN to log in to the terminal. At the terminal, there is a Visit bike option that allows you to access your bicycle without ending the parking process. After the second visit, no further visit is possible in the current parking process and the terminal only offers you the option to end the parking process.

If you have a reservation for a bicycle and a valid Season Ticket, the terminal will offer you a parking space directly with your Season Ticket assigned.

The assignment of the tariff or the number of bicycles can be changed via the respective buttons on the screen if necessary.

If you have multiple Season Tickets or want to park multiple bikes, you must assign your Season Tickets or the Flex Tariff before starting the parking process.

If you want to collect one or more bicycles from the facility, you end the parking process by logging into the terminal with your access medium or access PIN and selecting that you want to end the parking process. The door opens and you can remove your bicycles. Please do not forget to close the door again after you are done.

If you do not have the option to end the parking process, the terminal has not found an active parking process in your user account. In this case, please contact the support.

The terminal will recognise that you have several valid Season Tickets stored in your profile before the parking process starts. For each parking process, you can select at the terminal which Season Ticket is to be used.

We regularly check the parking time of the parked bicycles and mark bicycles that have been parked in a bike parking facility for more than 21 calendar days. If the maximum parking time is exceeded, an excess parking time fee will be charged, depending on the currently applicable tariff model. If you exceed the maximum parking time and/or if you do not meet your obligation to render payment, we are also entitled to remove your bicycle at your expense as a final resort after a set grace period expires without you remedying the situation.

All locations are open around the clock - you can park and pick up your bike at any time.

To start a parking process, go to the location where you want to park your bicycle. At the on-site terminal, log in with your access medium or access PIN.

If you have made a reservation in advance, the number of reserved bike slots will be displayed. If necessary, you can still adjust the number of bike slots as well as the selection of the desired tariffs. Please note that increasing the number of bike slots is only possible if there are enough bike slots available.

If you do not have a reservation, you can select or change the number of bikes you want to park and the assigned tariffs at the terminal before starting the parking process. You can select up to five bikes per location (provided there are enough free parking slots) and adjust the desired tariffs accordingly.  The door of the facility then opens, and you can park and lock your bicycles. Please do not forget to close the door again after parking your bicycles.

You can park up to five bicycles at each location. However, you can only have one ongoing parking process for one or more bicycles at each location, that is, once you have parked one or more bicycles at a location, you cannot park any additional bicycles there later while the original parking process is still ongoing. When you finish your parking process, it is necessary to retrieve all your bicycles at the same time.

In the ParkYourBike app, click the Bookings page, where you will find all ongoing parking processes for each bike and location.

On the map, locations with ongoing parking processes are marked with the parking icon.

Whether you park your bicycle in a collective bike parking facility or an individual bike parking slot, we recommend using your own bike lock.

Yes, you can usually pick up your bicycle at any time, even if the location is out of service. However, under these circumstances it isn’t possible to visit your bicycle without ending the parking process.

If there is no connection between the terminal and the app, but you are able to remove your bike from the facility, the parking process will be synchronized at a later time and the actual parking time will be updated in your ParkYourBike account as soon as there is a connection between the terminal and the app again.

10. About ParkYourBike

ParkYourBike offers various channels for contacting us if you have any concerns or questions. These include:

From October 31, 2024, the hotline and thus the telephone support will be completely replaced by the above-mentioned channels for contacting us.

Currently there are locations with collective bike parking and/or individual bike parking. On the Locations page, the type of parking facility is displayed for each location, along with the number of currently available bike slots at each parking facility.

You can generally park bicycles of the usual type, including e-bikes.

Please note the weight restrictions for the upper double-deck parkers (see the details at the respective locations). The support rails of the double-deck parkers are suitable for tire widths up to 55 mm. The maximum length of the bicycle should not exceed 1990 mm.

Special bikes such as tricycles or cargo bikes cannot be parked at all ParkYourBike locations. In the location details, check the description of the respective location to find out whether bike slots for special bikes are available there.

ParkYourBike is operated by GB infraVelo GmbH, a subsidiary of the state-owned enterprise Grün Berlin GmbH. The Senate Department for Urban Mobility, Transport, Climate Action and the Environment commissioned infraVelo with this task. infraVelo supports the state of Berlin in creating new cycling infrastructure and enhancing the environmental network. ParkYourBike operates under the umbrella of Fahrrad Berlin, the Fahrradstadt Berlin brand.

In an emergency, you should call the usual emergency numbers for the police or fire brigade. Our support is not responsible in such cases.

You can find ParkYourBike's terms and conditions in your app on the profile page at the bottom under Terms of Use, and you can also find them on the ParkYourBike website.

You can find the ParkYourBike locations on the map in the app or by visiting the www.parkyourbike.berlin Website. Go to the Locations page to view the map in the app.

Locations can be displayed on the map in the app or on the Website with the following status icons:

  • A location with available bike slots is indicated by a ParkYourBike icon in a white circle, with the white circle indicating how many bike slots are still available.
  • A location that is full is represented on the map by a ParkYourBike icon, with the surrounding circle appearing transparent.A location where you have a current reservation is displayed with a clock symbol.
  • A location where you have an ongoing parking process is displayed with a parking symbol.
  • An out-of-service location is displayed with an exclamation mark. At an out-of-service location, it is only possible to retrieve bicycles.
  • Locations in preparation are also displayed with this icon, which means that such a location does not yet exist but will soon be available. As we all know, anticipation is half the fun.
